Is there a way to train the most basic cognitive skills that are needed in an agile environment? Skills like concentration and clarity to deal better with change?
Modern mindfulness practices are a set of scientifically researched practices to improve on those skills. And while mindfulness practices are hundreds or even thousands of years old, it’s only around 30 years ago that scientists got intrigued by the cognitive skills of meditation practitioners. Out of that research, a modern mindfulness approach has emerged that’s now taught at Google, SAP and other tech companies.
In this interactive talk, I will share a bit of my own personal story with mindfulness. We’ll look at how mindfulness works and why it’s worth practicing. We’ll also look at some of the science behind it and do a short practice that you can take home with you.
All of that using a lot of analogies to coding – and there even will be a cat video.
